The best way to find out what is right for you is to look at your competitors, who have a similar client base, see they have used and adapt it to suit your needs and client base. It imay be necessary to take many factors  into account such as age, technical ability and  possible internet speed restrictions if out side of city. For this reason, relying on flash to access navigation to the site is a big mistake.

If you are working with corporate clients, they will not be able to down load updates for the latest flash component and can be 3 years behind the latest browser version.

If you want to have a presence on Google, you need to understand some basic principles of how Google will find you. Google can only read text and defines the relevance of a website, compared to other websites, in the way the word or phrase is used to make the search. This word or phrase is compared by the way it is used in the website structure and content. As from Feb 2010 it also demotes websites that are slow to open because they contain a lot of images that look nice but have not been thoughtfully optimised for the users to down load the page.
